The fifth and final release in the adorable Mother’s Love coin series features the orangutan.
The remarkable bond between a mother orangutan and her baby is the only true union among these great apes. Living a shy and solitary existence, the adult female assumes all care giving. She will carry her infant when she travels, and each evening, will assemble a nest in the tree branches where she will nourish and rest with her young.
Mother organutans nurture their young for a number of years, during which time they teach them how to climb, socialise and build their own shelter for sanctuary.
