This high relief release in the Australian Lunar Silver Coin Series II brings the latest 12-year cycle of the Chinese Lunar Calendar to a close with a stunning Year of the Pig design. The birth dates for those ruled by the pig include 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007 and 2019. Those born under the influence of this animal tend to be honest, loyal and sincere, with a calm temperament.

High Relief Lunar Design

For outstanding impact, the coin is made with an extra-deep blank to accommodate its incredibly detailed high relief design. The reverse features a representation of a domesticated pig and four adorable piglets amid stylised foliage. The Chinese character for ‘pig’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Pig’ appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
