Colour Design
The reverse of the coin depicts a rooster, a hen, and three chicks standing amongst bamboo foliage and flowers. The rooster has a golden citrine gemstone set into its eye. The Chinese character for ‘rooster’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Rooster’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

Limited Mintage
The Perth Mint will release no more than 500 of these 2017 Year of the Rooster 1 Kilo Silver Gemstone Edition.

Australian Legal Tender
Each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2017 year-date on the obverse.
