2018 is the Year of the Dog, the 11th animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. This stunning silver typeset collection comprises four silver coins - a proof, gilded, bullion and coloured finished coin.
The birth years for people born in the year of the Lunar dog include 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006 and 2018. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be loyal, amiable, kind and friendly.

Proof, Gilded, Bullion and Coloured Finishes
The reverse of each coin depicts a German Shepherd Dog and pup lying in grass with Chinese peony flowers in the background. The Chinese character for ‘dog’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Dog’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination are shown on each coin’s obverse.

Extremely Limited Issue
The Perth Mint will release no more than 1,500 of the 2018 Year of the Dog 1oz Silver Typeset from the following maximum mintages: 8,500 (proof), 300,000 (bullion), 50,000 (gilded) and 170,000 (coloured).

Presentation Packaging And A Numbered Certificate
The typeset is housed in a classic black and red presentation case and illustrated shipper, and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
